As a Senior Development Services Advisor in the City of Salisbury, you can make a difference! This position provides you the opportunity to join a highly motivated, customer-focused team. The City of Salisbury is seeking dedicated and collaborative candidates who will advocate for landowners and developers regarding development matters and guiding them through the development process; liaising, coordinating, monitoring review performance, and mentoring staff across all departments involved in the development process. Main duties include but are not limited to serving as primary point of contact and advocate for development and community stakeholders, coordinating and attending customer/developer/neighborhood meetings as needed to engage with stakeholders and resolve issues, mentoring staff in efficient processes and understanding stakeholders’ challenges and perspectives, monitoring and reporting on administration and organizational goals/directives status, and providing communications regarding the development process. Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, building construction, engineering, planning or related field and at least five years of professional experience that includes subject-matter expertise and knowledge in planning, development, and/or building construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid NC Driver’s License
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with development permitting software, GIS and Office 365 Suite preferred

Closing Date: September 3, 2025

Hiring range: $67,483.08 - $96,500.81 (Depending on Experience)

$2,000.00 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after successful completion of probationary period.
